meet Leah.

Greetings from Hiram!  My name is Leah.  I am a junior nursing major.  I am very excited to meet everyone involved in Caminante and spend three weeks in the beautiful city of Boca Chica.  It is just 15 days and counting until we leave for the Dominican Republic!  I can’t believe it’s almost time to go!  Our group has been working very hard for the past several months to prepare fun and valuable lessons.  I have been practicing and practicing my lessons on dental health and basic first aid and I can’t wait to finally teach them to a real group.  🙂   In fact, a special helper for my dental lesson arrived in the mail last week and I am looking forward to introducing him to the children.

I am also looking forward to learning from everyone—being immersed in a new culture, experiencing the reality of life in Boca Chica, and improving my very basic Spanish skills!

We will all be serving to learn and learning to serve!
